Rangers penalized
The board of directors has decided to penalize the New York Rangers for not following the league directives regarding goaltender use during season 8.

The rules states that at least one of the goaltenders used must be a rookie playing 5 games minimum, something that the Rangers failed to achieve.

The New York Rangers are therefore penalized with 1 point deducted from its total of 37 during season 8 leaving them with a total of 36.

The standings will not be affected by this point loss however since they still have one more win than the trailing San Jose Sharks.
