LEO BOIVIN AWARD

Awarded to the defenseman who specializes in the defensive aspect of the game. Hits, +/- and minimal offensive records are taken into consideration.

Coming over from Carolina Hurricanes mid season proved to be a total game changer for Shea Weber.
Donning a not so flattering -13 record in 21 games for the Hurricanes, Weber proved to be a reliable defensive power for the Canadiens where he turned his game around and posted a +11 record in 20 games. Adding to that a brutal 157 hits over the season showed that this player had alot of heart and presence on and off the ice.

41 GP, 9 pts, -2, 157 hits.

Winner: SHEA WEBER, Montreal Canadiens

Runner up: DANNY DEKEYSER, Detroit Red Wings
