Birch hattrick! |
Regina Vampires forward Thora Birch scored a hattrick in a 6-8 loss against the Washington Capitals in game 358, round 33.
Birch scored 3+0 with a +1 record on 7 shots and 7 hits in 27:41 played. In a game which can best explained as "anything goes" the Vampires saw themselves outscored 1-4 after the 1st period. A quick goal by Kovalchuk at the beginning of the 2nd made it 1-5 before the Vampires got themselves together and began scoring back. The Capitals had both 3-7 and 3-8 when the Vampires managed to score 3 unanswered goals to make it 6-8. Stefania Ferrario scored 1+2 while Olson had 2 goals for the Vampires. This was the 3rd time this season the Vapires have been on the losing side of a scoring feast such as this. Game 114 vs Miami ended 7-6 in favor for the Angels and game 208 vs Chicago ended 9-6 for the Blackhawks. The 6 goals scored by the Vampires that game would have given them the win or a tie in any of the other games in those rounds. November 09, 2017 By: - QHL.se Staff Writer |
